I synthesized alpha-aminonitrile from oxidative-cyanation of dibenzyleamine (DBA) using singlet oxygen as oxidant and TMSCN as tapping agent. TLC of crude product indicated a clear spot of alpha-aminonitrile in Hexane and EA (9:1) with Rf of 0.35. However, I could not able to separate alpha-aminonitrile from DBA by column chromatography using Hexane and EA (6:1). I only received DBA from this separation method. Does anybody guide me in this regard?
