As we want to do electroporation in vivo, we design and make our own electrode, first, we use silver, than change to Aluminium. But both of them rusted easily. So I was wonder which materials did others use. Any recommendations?
We don't do in vivo measurements but we tend to use gold and platinum for our electrochemical biosensors where possible.
I have provided a link to a paper discussing criteria for implanted electrodes that suggests platinum, iridium, rhodium, and gold as candidates for recording electrodes. With their choices for stimulating electrodes being platinum, platinum–iridium, gold, tungsten and rhodium.
I'm sure there are other similar papers out there.
