Can I suggest that the real problem is internalised (self-) stigma? Medical students have a high prevalence of psychological problems, but they dare not admit to having them. It's called the "Yale face" – having been identified among students in Yale, who worked really hard to keep up a false front of wellbeing because they felt that they would be shamed and humiliated if they revealed their suffering.

It might be wise to included questions on other topics. In a study we did of medical student attitudes toward addictions, we found that self-described political/personal orientation (e.g., conservative, moderate, liberal) was strongly correlated with attitudes about how to deal with addictions. Conservatives were more likely to favor punitive strategies (punishment of dealers) while more self-described liberals favored treatment and rehabilitation.
