Hello all,

I want to ask a question about scale development. During scale development, must I perform both EFA (Explanatory Factor Analysis) and CFA (Confirmatory Factor Analysis)? Or is EFA enough?

According to EFA results KMO .902, there are 5 factors and the factors explain % 67,20 of the variance.

The problem is if I perform CFA, I get a problem. The problem is CFI value is .88 (instead of .90).

What should I do?

And how many items must be under a factor? If I have a factor with two items, is it normal/ok?

Thank you in advance.

Meryem
