Tissue engineering = Bioactive Scaffold + Growth factors & cells + Nutrition;

As mentioned above, nutrition, growth factors & cells biology are well discussed nowadays and being improved...

The real problem, especially for hard tissues, as you mentioned, is the need for bioactive scaffolds. In relation to this issue, the use of collagenic bioinks (- Synthesis and incorporation of rod-like nano-hydroxyapatite in the type I collagen matrix: a hybrid formulation for 3D printing of bone structures.
