Just been introduced to RE cloning and subcloning. I'm reviewing my notes and came across this question:

When cloning a XhoI fragment into a vector cut with SalI, would you expect the resulting recombinant plasmid to cut with either or both of these RE?

My issue is this, the fragment will have a (+) TCGA[G sticky end and the plasmid vector will have a (-) C]AGCT sticky end. So surely neither RE will recognise the new sequence, but because the question asks "either or both", it seems like neither isn't the answer. A bit confused, any help is greatly appreciated.
