Hello,
I need to soak metal organic frameworks in a solution of copper acetylacetonate, or cu(acac)2, dissolved in a solvent. This is because capillary pressure will allow copper to move into the pores of the MOFs. The problem is, I can't use chloroform because of safety issues. What other solvents is cu(acac)2 soluble in, preferably green/safer chemicals?

Dear Claire Boyer, copper(II) acetylacetonate is soluble in a variety of solvents, including dichloromethane (which is considered less toxic than chloroform), alcohols and acetone.
Claire Boyer Like prefers like in chemical terms. I’d be looking for a solvent such as ethyl acetate.
I am with dichloromethane although there are several alternative options.
