I want to isolate fungal strain that can further be studied for bioremediation and mycoremediation studies related to pesticide, herbicide, PAHs and POPs degradation.
Neither are useful for your purpose, because on them are ulturable a wide range of fungi. The fungi that you are looking for are adapted to polluted environment, then you have to think to use low doses of xenobiotics as selective agents plus chloramphenicol or streptomicin (etc) In that way is supposed to select both tolerant as well as degrading fungi. I did somthing similar to isolate toluene degrading fungi.
Maybe the following paper will be useful to you: 139. Elisashvili V., Kachlishvili E., Khardziani T., Agathos S.N. Effect of aromatic compounds on the production of laccase and manganese peroxidase by white-rot basidiomycetes. J. Ind. Microbiol. Biotechnol. 2010, 37, 1091-1096
