In fact work in hospitals is very heady and unhealthy. You are really blessed if you have a robot as companion or some mobile robot that could carry patients from one place to another. There should be a good design, similar to food industry, to be able to make an adequate cleaning and sterilization (sturdy materials).

I think the application of nanorobots would give a good research area in supporting of breathing ailments in Covid19 patients.

Respirocytes are hypothetical nanobots engineered to function as artificial red blood cells. In emergencies where a patient stops breathing and blood circulation cases, respirocytes could be injected into the bloodstream to transport respiratory gases until the patient is stabilized. Nanorobot ideas will be applicable here.

Nice discussion! We are working on an array of robots, say at different floors, units, tasks to be controlled from single control room.

Any practical cost-effective robot proven for use (delivery, samples, sanitizing, measurement) in medical and clinical environments? or communities?

Use of robots at quarantine centers where less critical patients are present is very suitable idea. This can no doubt reduce the spread of COVID-19.

In some developing countries, trash collecting is a very manual job, with the trash mostly exposed as opposed to easy grabbing of closed garbage bags. Some simple robotics devices might assist the service-givers and help minimize their contact with the trash and increase their safety.

Hooman, it is interesting how the various studies on the usefulness of robots has, in effect, taken the role of other humans (e.g. doctors, nurses, drivers etc...) out of the carer-patient equation. Is this the 'new normal'.

Starting at John Mendy ´s comment It has occurred to me that one important aspect of using Robotics in Covid-19 is education and training. Infectology is somehow a complex science to train people and educate them in all the aspects to be used in hospital and home patients. Suppose we create such a Robot. Then teach the nurses, medical doctors and patients on how to use such a tool. Remember we are dealing with men/women-machine. Let us think about it. It is so interesting. Surgical robots for example need a whole lot of training directed to highly competent surgeons. And all these activities ought to be accomplished light-fast. We are dying in a rampant and scary mode ladies and gentleman.@John Mendy has mentioned above and robots have a peculiar way in the training of people. Also John Mendy and all we should always approach the problem complementing people and not replacing them at a first stage. For example, robots have been deployed in hospitals to care for people seriously ill with Covid-19 disease to support medical services. The robots also supported the work of public order services by patrolling streets, shopping centers, city parks, which controlled whether citizens wear protective masks, whether too large gatherings of people were formed, whether citizens in public places kept the required social distance, min. 1.5 m. The scale of automation of business activity has increased in manufacturing companies and in grocery and industrial stores, such as discounters and supermarkets.
