Hi, we need to isolate mRNA from strawberry and grape leaves, but we are struggling in this task. Unlike when extracting RNA from tomato leaves and capsicum fruit, we are continously finding that our extractions are very inefficient: the RNA is rather degradated or in very low concentration.

We have been using Zymo Research Direct-zol RNA Miniprep plus. We didn't have any problems with it until working with strawberry. With this in mind i have searched for information about this topic, but I only find that most of the people recommend continuing to use the extraction kits.

In this regard, I beg for any help or recommendations, just to know if pre-heating or other treatments work well for improving the efficience of the extractions.

Thank you very much.
