The risk of acute pancreatitis with endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration is relatively small. However, with the growing use of new FNB needles there seems to be a higher rate of pancreatitis.

YES. I thin that is one mechanical type due to perforation of pancreatic ductes and consecutively chemical damage due to invasion of pancreatic exocrine enzymes in the pancreatic parenchyme to pancreatitis EUS - FNA induced.
