It is natural that you are experiencing some difficulties with your study. I easily understand what you mean by 'substance abuse'. The same is not the case about the expression "perceptions of 'youth' . What perceptions are you thinking about? This is not clear in your post. Do you want to study the relation between youth's perceptions of substance and its consumption by youth? If this is the case, then you have to find a way to assess how a given sample of preadolescents and adolescents think of substance abuse (e.g., "Do you think that substance abuse makes you happy". "Do you think that substance abuse makes you clever"; and so forth) and related youth's answers to these and others questions and their consumption of drug.

research is important to solve existing problem but also adding to existing knowledge. now, once you topic is not well formulated you get difficulties in terms of identifying statement of the problem, research questions, objectives and others. your research topic is An exploratory study on the perceptions of 'youth' and 'substance abuse'. this topic is missing something. do you mean perception of youth on substance abuse? example you can say an exploratory study of the perception of youth on substance abuse. the problem you are studying is based on youth and their consumption of substance abuse. you know substance abuse are bad this is the problem and if youth consume them it will bring many consequences here you need to understand it in this context. otherwise you can do whatever you can and send it to my email and help you for research questions and others that are not well understood to you. my email is [email protected]
