I have been searching for a model organism to study some nutrient physiology related aspects on seaweeds. In my nearby coastal area ulva, gracilaria and chaetomorpha available. Im planning to take one seaweed as model organism for my entire work. In this case ulva and gracilaria are more explored in nutrient physiology i think so. Chaetomorpha is one of the underexlored algae in the seaweed community which present world wide. from myself im willing to do work on chaetomorpha. But, where ever im searching paper in journals, those are related to chaetomorpha is relatively low and most of those papers were published in low impact journals. I dont know why and what is the reason for that, whether ulva and gracilaria are considered as economically important or any other reasons. I have a fear, if take that, i will also struggle to publish it in high impact journals or i can do work with chaetomorpha or i have to with commecially important gracilaria and ulva. Apart from this, If i will also do work on chaetomorpha my work will be considered as good one or not.

so, pls suggest me doing work with algae like chaetomorpha will become valueable or i have to go with those economically important species.
