I often see that there are mistakes made about terminology and definitions in my field of study (biosorption and biosorbents). In addition, there are some methodological mistakes as well (e.g., in batch types sorption studies).
I would like to write about these issues, but what could be the best way to do that? As it should not be more than 5 pages, can I write about that using short communication?
I have not seen many (if any) articles about these issues... Have you?
Artis, I would think that if you are simply writing about mistakes you have noticed and bringing these to the attention of other researchers then a short communication would be best. If however you are doing a content analysis of the mistakes (or some other form of systematic analysis) or you are making policy recommendations, then a paper may be better. I hope that helps.
