According to Hava 2007, Cossyphus tauricus is known from Albania, Afghanistan, ‘Caucasus’, Cyprus, Greece, south-western Russia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy (including Sardinia), Syria, Turkey, and Turkmenistan. The localities reported from Iran from material deposited in the National Museum of Praha includes:
Iran, 18-19.v.2006, Khorasan Razni prov., Shurlaq (river valley; at light), 36°18,8'N 60°38,0'E, 570 m, Jiří Hájek & Pavel Chvojka leg.’, 1 spec. (NMPC); ‘Iran, Golestan prov., 27.v.2006, 5 km W Sari Qamish (river valley, at light), 37°52,3'N 55°45,3'E; 155 m, Jiří Hájek & Pavel Chvojka leg.’, 1 spec. (NMPC).
