I plan to prepare nanoparticle by controlled gelification method. the method were using poly-l-lysine to form the polyelectrolyte complex. But, I have some problem because I do not have the poly-l-lysine.
Could someone suggest what is the best polymer to replace the use of poly-l-lysine?
Is it okay if I use l-lysine or poly-d-lysine?

You may try another water-soluble polycationic polymer: polyethyleneimine (PEI). It is cheap and available with various molecular weights. The molar content of aminogroups in PEI is higher than that in poly-L-lysine, so you will need higher amount of the anionic counterpart to get precipitable polyelectrolyte complex. L-lysine is a low MW substance. I doubt it forms precipitable complexes with polyanions.
