What is the correlation between hydrophobicity and zeta potential of metal nanoparticle(s)?
For example, if a nanoparticle(s) has a zeta potential of -30 mV and another has -15 mV, which one would be more hydrophobic than the other?
Appreciate any insight or reference to support the claim!

Since hydrophobicity interactions happend between uncharged (non polar) chemical groups, the closer to zero would be the "more hydrophobic" sample. If the sample are uncoated metal nanoparticles, or they are coated with polyelectrolyte polymer, they probably have some electrical charge.

Metal nanoparticles are almost always hydrophilic. If their surfaces are modified, they can be hydrophobic. On hydrophobic nanoparticles, ions are adsorbed worse and therefore the zeta potential can be lower.
Zeta potential is about electrostatic interactions, wich might be indirectly related to hydrophilicity. You migth still have something charged but also hydrophobic.
The Zeta potential only determines electrostatic stabilization. In any case, Zeta Potential values close to 0 are related to absence electrostatic stabilization but the particles can still have steric stabilization.
