Colleagues,

I need some fast help, so I implore you to provide a response to my question, if you can.

DISCLAIMER: I'm a qualitative researcher and haven't done quantitative analyses in a while.

I'm conducting a multiple regression analysis using SPSS (version 24), and I have 6 predictor variables. All but one of the factors are categorical variables.

I've converted the categorical variables to dummy variables. Now, I just need to figure out the best regression analysis for my data.

Do I do a stepwise analysis and enter each dummy variable into its own block?

Can I do a backward regression? If so, then how would that work with my dummy variables?

Is there another strategy that is better than either of the 2 that I've mentioned?

I appreciate all the help I can get.

Thanks a bunch,

Shannon
