Hi,

Myself Dr. Balakrishna Ananthoju. I am working on the synthesis of hexagonal boron nitride using rf-magnetron sputtering. I am using Boron nitride sputtering target. I have deposited the boron nitride on Sapphire substrates. My target is to get the hexagonal phase of the BN. After deposition I have done the Raman measurements and observed the peak at 1160 cm-1 (Laser wavelength 780 nm). But hexagonal BN case most of the reports show the Raman peak at 1366 cm-1. My query is can we consider this 1160 cm-1 peak for the confirmation of hexagonal BN phase. If not I would like to know what exactly is this peak? I have attached the Raman data for your reference.

I will be grateful for your kind help in this.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Balakrishna Ananthoju
