First, the moisture content is determined by NIR spectroscopy. Then the same samples are used for determining moisture by Karl Fishcher titration. Then a graph is drawn correlating the two sets of values. Using this graph, only NIR spectroscopy is used for moisture estimation of future samples, dispensing with the Karl Fischer method. Is NIR spectroscopy recommended for UO2 powder as a substitute for Karl Fishcher method?
