Recomendations for scanner for biological applications?

Does anyone have any recomendations for a scanner for biological applications? In detail, I want to digitalize 96-well plates. A standard scanner from Epson was not able to render a clear picture of the plate. Colleagues are using the biostep ViewPix 900, however that scanner does not seem to be available anymore. Does anyone know any devices that are fit for the applications I aspire to do?
