Rhaphanus sativus seeds are often used to test toxic compounds of medicinal or other plants. Easy germination and throughout year availability are common factors for their selection. But what is reason of their greater sensitivity towards toxins compared to other seeds? How one can explain that radish seed germination and seedling inhibition can explain toxicity in general? They are reported to be most sensitive seeds towards toxins, why?
