Hi Folks, I have two molecules with almost same structure let say A and B ..A is the starting molecules/material for B by displacing OH group to an etheric group. So the strutures almost same: =》》》 A with OH and B with OCH2CH3. Would IR discrminate those? The spec (abs on Y axis) looks like almost same but at longer wavelength B presents sharper peak. I am afraid it would be due to sample prep not discriminating A over B..any thought would be appreciated...
