Exploratory factor analysis combines several correlated items into a new, reduced set of variables. It is strictly about how to measure things, and thus does not include either independent or dependent variables, which makes it very different from regression.

Factor analysis is generally used to develop scales and not to find significant factors that affect a dependent variable (sustainable agriculture in your case).
For this, you need to go for regression. However, before you identify the most significant predictors/factors, you need to conduct tests like t-tes/ANOVA/Kruskal Wallis test/correlation test, to identify the factors that are at least significantly associated with your depend variable. based on the response the researcher dealing with and assumptions set, the method of analysis can be tested for appropriateness. it is not easy to generalize about analysis methods. most of the agricultural research are experimental in type. thus analysis methods other than regression may be employed like ANOVA and so on.
