My research topic is socio-economic impact of employment of Filipinos Maids in Singapore. My research will be both Quantitative & Qualitative perceptive. (mix mode)
My question: should I write the hypothesis for my research.
Sivananthan- it depends. You can state hypotheses for your quantitative phase - especially say if you are making inferences from existing data. If you are say using a standard questionnaire tool - research questions are best suited.

In social science research, I often find that there are NOT hypotheses being tested, but rather research questions to explore.
A hypothesis states what you THINK the outcome will be. Research questions are (or should be) stated in a way that is neutral and do not assume the outcome.
Does your research consist in a survey design? If so, much depends on how that survey came about (especially whether it's a standardised survey instrument) and your analytic approach, as described by, for example, Vogt et al. (2014: 368): inductive (developing a new theory or hypothesis), deductive (being guided by an existing theory or hypothesis) or combined (refining a theory or hypothesis).
