Hi all,

I'm facing an issue wrt the quantification of Al extracted from an unknown waste laminate sample. On reacting the sample with NaOH,  hydrogen gas liberation is observed. The sample is then subjected to ash content test post drying. I have to confirm that the final ash residue consists solely of Al. Any suggestions as to how I could go about this? Keep in mind that XRF is unavailable at my location.

The idea was that the extracted sample would contain more of polymer and less of Al. When subjected to ash content at about 500 degrees Celsius, the polymer would be removed completely leaving behind Al. However, I cannot directly quantify the weight of the ash as the amount of Al removed/present in the ash.
