For the standalone PV supplying induction motor through dc-dc and inverter stages, i have three questions:
a) what is the commonly used type for dc-dc converter?. if the PV Voc output is 44.5, and 5.5 max current ( max power 180 w at V=35 and I = 5.1),?
b) what should be the suitable dc-link voltage?
c) what are the suitable parameters of the buck-boost converter for the 180 w?
Buck type converter and 24V induction motor seems to be an effective solution. I do not recommend buck-boost converter without necessity - because of the added power loss and cost.
For induction motor drive through PV, you have to put a dc-dc converter for MPPT control. The dc-dc converter used is generally a boost converter. The parameters of boost converter can be decided on the basis of your dc link voltage requirement and the input voltage from PV. For more details in this field you can go for the following paper:

The design for such systems starts from the load type and its energy requirements as well as the operation criterion of the load (deferrable or non-deferrable) under specific Loss of Power Supply Probability (LPSP). Based on these data, the rest of the standalone solar-PV system can be well identified. The selected inverter defines the required DC-DC converter based on the required DC link voltage of the inverter. Usually, boost converters are used as the operation of the module(s) under STC is very rare during a typical day i.e. its output voltage may not reach an adequate value, although the voltage is less sensitive to a wide range of solar radiations. The parameters of the DC-DC converter are determined based on the required DC link voltage, and the statistical variation of the output voltage from the solar-PV module(s). You are welcome. Yes, the input voltage to inverter should be kept constant or within a narrow bandwidth defined by the inverter manufacturer. In the following article, we constructed a modified MPPT method for stabilizing the DC voltage at the inverter terminals.
