I am working on a pulsar search. I have read so many papers about pulsar search and Mostly the techniques which used for periodicity search of a pulsar is FFT (Fast Fourier Transform ) and FFA(Fast folding Algorithm ), But My question is Do we have any alternative techniques which are better then FFA and FFT for periodicity detection of the pulsar.

Normally when we searching pulsar we apply few steps on pulsar data Like RFI(Radio Frequency Mitigation ) and try different Dedispersion Trials and after that apply FFT or FFA.

So any suggestion will help me.
