pSMAD-1 Antibody and PBS for IHC?

Has anyone had trouble with pSMAD-1 antibody when using PBS buffer to wash the sections? I've been told other antibodies against phosphorilated proteins require the use of TBS instead of PBS.

I'm using pSMAD-1/SMAD5/SMAD8 antibody by milipore (AB3848) in 12,5 dpc mouse cryostat sections. I got an ubiquitous mark, as if it was phosphorilated everywhere and I know it shouldn't be.

Thank you! That helps a lot! I'll give the antibody another shot in better fixed embryos, maybe O.N fixing... If it's a fixation issue it should be easy to resolve.
