In general, you can generate N random numbers in the interval (a,b) with the formula r = a + (b-a). *rand(N,1) . For more on this, havea look at :

MATLAB rand() function is already a built in pseudo random number generator. If your needs are more specific please give more details or send a message.

For Pseudo Random Number Generation, there are many methods can be successfully implemented in Matlab. First of all you need to determine two things. They are:
1. Limit of the random numbers.
2. The distribution you want to use, i.e. Normal, Poisson, Binomial or Exponential.
Now for these all, there are different built in functions in Matlab such as:
Normal Distribution -> rand();
Poisson Distribution -> poissrnd();
Binomial Distribution -> binornd();
Exponential Distribution -> expinv();
Hence, that depends on your requirement, which one you need to use. And ofcourse don't forget to put proper parameters according to your requirement. You can try to search for documentation mentioning those function names in Matlab central. I hope it will be helpful for you. Good luck!

Unfortunatebly, you can not see codes of the program and other similar ones. These functions are a built-in functions in the form of compiled codes. The MathWorks does not provide the codes for compiled functions

If the PRNG is part of a larger algorithm/application then you have the option of using the MATLAB Compiler to create standalone applications. The end-user can then run your applications royalty-free using MATLAB Runtime.
MATLAB random number generation function is [rand(a,b)] if you want real numbers, and [Randi(a,b)] if you want valid numbers, Where a is smallest number and b largest number
