Does anyone know of any transcription factors that have a propensity to bind to genes that are coded on the negative/minus strand of DNA? If yes, can you please provide examples and possible reasons?
Transcription factors should not have a propensity to bind to genes on the minus strand because they are on the minus strand, but you might find transcription factors that happen to bind to genes that happen to be on the minus strand, if you take my meaning. There is no particular meaning to what strand a gene is on, and even well conserved genes might be on one strand in a certain species and the other stand in another species.
