I am a mechanical engineering student. I need a project on design using solidworks and analysis using anysis. Please share some basic solidworks and ansys project with me. I will try to do. Thank you.
It depends on the specific field you want to work upon. Various options are present like suppose if you want to do structural analysis of a designed part/product (created in solid works) in ANSYS or you may want to go for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) of flow domain in ANSYS fluent. ANSYS is an excellent vast domain with various modules each relating to specific applications. However, nowadays Solid works also has inbuilt modules related to FEA and CFD in which you can carry your basic to moderate level simulation tasks, but not as vast as ANSYS. But before choosing any simulation task you must have basic theoretical concept knowledge about the simulation module, otherwise it will just be a blackbox.
First of all you should make 3D model in solidworks, then export the model in *.step, *.x_t, *.igs or ... extension. Then import 3D model to Ansys, after that use Ansys to analysis the model.
The 3D model is depend on analysis type, Structural, Fluid or any other simulation.
You need to start with a good Machine Drawing book. In these books, you will find lots of assemblies with all dimensions. First, you need to draw these components in SolidWorks and then move to ANSYS. I can send you a good book with lots of examples if you want.
