I am attending a Cloud Computing workshop series and trying to learn more about Software-as-a-Service; Platform-as-a-Service; Data-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service etc.
I am just thinking whether is it feasible to have Project-as-a-Service utilising Cloud Computing technology? As such, Project Managers could use the "Cloud" to manage their project plans, project reporting, risk logs, issue logs etc. Everybody do not have to worry about the different versions or different formats of project planning tools, tracking tools and communication tools etc.
In addition, the "Cloud" could host the established project management processes, standards and templates for project managers to refer and use them online.
We could have a virtual PMO via the "Cloud". The "Cloud" could be public for project managers in general or private for corporate projects.
We might have greener projects and more cost effective menas to manage projects via Cloud Computing.
Welcome for more suggestions and comments.
