I am trying to regenerate the simulation of an article and put all the boundary conditions according to the paper. I am conducting three analysis of a structure i.e. compression, tensile and shear and i am facing some issue during these analysis.
1) Compression Test Result mismatching:
My compression test simulation results are not according to the article results while i am following every thing according to the design and i have attach my simulation result and article simulation result for reference.
2) Tensile and shear test contact issue?
According to the article the rigid plate and structure has infinitely rough and
sticky contact and when i select rough contact in ANSYS workbench during the simulation than my plate move alone and there is no movement in the structure.
For more understanding i have attach the pictures of each case and also the article that i am following.
For an experiment purposes, I have tried bonded contact between rigid plate and structure for tensile and shear test simulation too and the results that i found is different from the article. I have attached the picture of shear test simulation with bonded contact. The same thing happen for Tensile test simulation too when i choose bonded contact instead of rough contact in ANSYS workbench.
Please suggest me where i am doing something wrong and can improve my results.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes i am trying to follow everything according to the paper but there are things that he did not mention in the paper for example mesh size of the structure and similarly they mention they used rigid plate for compression, tensile and shear simulation but did not defined exactly which rigid plate and in my simulation i used diamond based rigid plate. I know in these conditions it is hard to get the exact results but the main issue that i have is the basic failure of my mechanism in case of tensile and shear simulation.
According to the paper they said that the connection between rigid plate and scaffold is infinitely rough and when i used this condition in my simulation my rigid plate disassemble from the structure and i can not perform the simulation. You can see this case in one of the picture that i attached above. However, if i use other contact like bonded than it works. Why it is like that while according to the paper rough contact should be consider during tensile and shear simulation.

Yes i have designed my scaffold model in solid work according to the dimensions provided by the article and considering the same constraint too such as each rod is 50um inside the other rod etc.. However, regarding the size of the rigid plate paper did not tell any information that what should be material of the rigid plate and what should be the dimensions of the rigid plate. And in my simulation i just consider diamond base rigid plate with the dimensions defined intuitively.
However, in simulation part when i make my connection with the rigid plate and scaffold as a rough contact than during tensile test simulation my rigid plate is disassembled from the scaffold structure and there is not stress in the scaffold structure. When i change the contact from rough to bonded than my tensile simulation has been performed. However, in paper it is mentioned that the contact between scaffold and rigid plate is rough which is not working in my case.
Also, as in the paper mentioned that the element size is 25um and the best mesh is tetrahedral but when i set the mesh size 25um with tetrahedral method than it take a lot of computational time around 7 to 8 hours and finally the simulation stop without any result with the error message of insufficient memory. So i try with the 100um mesh size of tetrahedral and then i got the results within 15 to 20 min. My PC specifications are i7 with RAM GB while processors is 2.5 GHZ.
I have attached the IGES file of my solidwork model too for more clearance. You can check these things in the ANSYS too .

I am new to Ansys workbench. I have designed a spiral-like spring looking to simulate for compression, tensile and shear. Any idea of how I could get the set-up(settings) right. From meshing to solving. Any suggestion will be very much appreciated.@
