I have recently started using Abaqus. I am attempting to model a small crack in a spirally-welded pipe. However, I'm facing difficulties while using the contour integral method to model the crack surface using sweep extrude. I have considered the scale of the model to be in meters, but I am finding that when I use sweep extrude, the geometry is not accurate enough and the crack surface is not generated correctly. Should I consider modeling in millimeters instead, or are there other factors I should take into account?

Hello,
I suggest you use the submodelling approach. In this case, you use the spirally-welded pipe as global model (in meter) and without the crack and create a local submodel that includes the crack (in millimeters).
