apply temperature loads (expansion or contraction based on your requirement) in a dummy step to get desired pre-stressed state

I have two articles in simulating prestressed beams in ANSYS and I am interesting in having information to do this in Abaqus.

You can apply either temperature loads or modify "initial condition, type=stress..." for the specified members in the *.inp.

Hi, Thanks for your response. Is it necessary to model 7 cables separately? Is the truss element better than beam element? because I studied that beam element better than truss element for bending or etc. I considered tie constraint for interaction between cable and concrete. Is it true? Do I need to modeled slip?
