PPO (polyphenol oxidase) activity using 4-methyl catechol?

Can activity enzyme PPO (polyphenol oxidase) carried out using 4-methyl catechol in phosphate buffers pH 7,0? What wavelength can we use to see enzyme activity? Can it read at 410nm or 400nm? Then, what is the extinction coefficient of 4-methyl catechol for activity calculations?

I found a reference that gives the extinction coefficient of the product 4-methyl-1,2-benzoquinone as 1350 M-1cm-1 at 400 nm (page 29).

You could also determine this yourself by running the reaction to completion.
