We are assessing the possibility of cogeneration with a MED TVC desalination plant. The goal is to couple a conventional Rankine cycle with a MED TVC desalination plant. During the day the Rankine cycle produces electricity with a turbine and during the night feeds a MED TVC desalination plant. Assuming the MED TVC plant requires 1000 MWt of power during the night (full power operation), how much power should be provided during the day to “keep it warm”? Is it necessary?

Thank you!
