Potassium nitrate and sodium chloride solution turns yellowish while performing chronopotentiometry.

I am doing electrocatalytic denitrification using potassium nitrate and sodium chloride solution.While doing chronopotentiometry the solution turned yellowish and formed some precipitates.What is the reason for this yellowish colour and what are those precipitates formed? Can we prevent the solution from turning to yellowish colour? If yes, how?
