I am designing a biosensor where I will use cyclic voltammetry as characterization and square wave voltammetry as detection methods. In most literature it is stated that the electroactive species used is typically 5mM of K3[Fe(CN)6], but some articles state that they used a 5mM concentration of both K3[Fe(CN)6] and K4[Fe(CN)6].

Regardless of the concentration used, I was just wandering if there are any advantages when using both electroactive species versus just using ferricyanide?
