I am very intrigued by this experimental discovery by Prof Pankaj Kapahi at Beck Institute for Research Aging. Kapahi and coworkers measured unusual accumulation of glycogen in neutrons and the binding of this glycogen to tau proteins during Alzheimer's development and activities. See { Neuronal glycogen breakdown mitigates tauopathy via pentose-phosphate-pathway-mediated oxidative stress reduction | Nature Metabolism } I contacted Prof Kapahi and he noted to me that the flies in their measurements were fed cane sugar. Cane sugar is from sugar cane which is a C4 plant and much more enriched in 13C. I am intrigued because the experimental discovery of Kapahi et al here fits my model of 13C causing disease. My theory of 13C causing disease was outlined in my 2018 book written in 2018 and published in 2022 { https://www.bookpi.org/bookstore/product/on-the-atomic-carcinogenic-mechanism-and-cure-for-cancer-ferrochemistry-for-cause-of-warburg-effect/ }. I say this as the flies produce glycogen from the ingested sugar cane and the glycogen is enriched in 13C and the 13C enriched glycogen by my theory can cause stronger binding of the tau protein for causing the accumulation of glycogen in neurons for causing the mechanism of Alzheimer's Disease. I congratulation Prof Pankaj Kapahi and coworkers of this great experimental discovery! I have noted role of isotopes having nonzero nuclear magnetic moments (NMMs) before for being involved in Alzheimer's Disease and possible treatment/cure.
