A coalition of scientists, activists, and international organizations warn that next year only 10% of people in 67 low-income countries will be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The People’s Vaccine Alliance argue this is partly due to rich countries purchasing many times the number of doses of the vaccine necessary to vaccinate their populations. The alliance is a coalition of organizations, including Amnesty International, Global Justice Now, Free the Vaccine, the Yunus Centre, Frontline AIDS, Oxfam, SumOfUs, and UNAIDS.
They call for all vaccine manufacturers to share their intellectual property and technology openly, and for COVID-19 vaccines to be distributed according to need and be free to the public.

According to new analysis ,mostly low and middle income countries will not have access to ashot of vaccine until 2022.High income countries,including EU bloc,reserved 51 percent of nearly 7.5 billion doses of different COVID_19 vaccine,although these countries comprise just 14percent of the world's population.Meanwhile,only six of 13 manufacturers working on COVID_19 vaccine candidates have reach agreements to sell their shots to low and middle income countries.

The impact will be huge....the poor developing countries are the one who bear the maximum burden of this deadly virus and they are the ones who are not yet getting the vaccine...this will lead to huge morbidity and mortality....

It is very unfortunate that poor countries, countries with weaker economic development and lower incomes are losing out to rich countries when it comes to acquiring the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) Coronavirus vaccine. Poor countries should receive help in this matter, so that also in these countries there are programs to vaccinate citizens against the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19).

The fact that poor countries lose out to rich countries that have bought more than they need will surely have a negative impact; because we know that none is safe until all are protected. In my place (Penang, Malaysia), we will only receive the vaccine around Feb 26, and surely it must first go to health care workers, and then the ones who need it most including the elderly and the compromised. If we can be sensible about making this priority, should we not be just as sensible as saying that all should have it based on need, and not on earthly goods? Thanks.
