Hi,
Does anyone know how to simulate a polysilicon diode in Sentaurus? I've tried use the software provided material "polysilicon" & "polySi" to run the basic forward and reverse bias simulation. But both of them yield the same result as silicon diode. I'm a bit confused, if the electrical models of them are the same, why even bother providing the polysilicon material option?

Thank you so much for your fast and detailed response. The research and simulation work related to polysilicon diode that I currently focus on concerns mostly the capacitance characteristic of the polysilicon diode when it is reverse biased.
More specifically saying, I may want to know would there be a significant difference between the depletion capacitance of a silicon diode and that of a polysilicon diode, although I understand that the grain size and the grain boundary of the polysilicon may affect the result a lot. And if so, would there also be a way to include that in the simulation too?
I'm very interested in the publication you mentioned in your response, may I have the title of that paper? Also, if I want to have a better understanding of the physical properties of polysilicon, is there any book you can think of that I can refer to?
