We are working with liquids primarily oils such as corn oils etc. We would like to measure their polarity. Can somebody please suggest a simple inexpensive instruments that can do that?
Mainly the industries interested in oil use highly developed large focusing technologies to understand for use of oils that brings results for calculations to utilise for applications for general purposes. Else that is needed is inexpensive simple technologies that can also add to these calculations. Simply the electrical measure of heat in a calorimeter does measure energetic stable states of metals and the rising electric stable states of metals produced through temperatures excite of a metal. This is a show of the increasing exciting state of a metal shown through temperature to electrical measurement of temperature showing the various paths in several states of excited metal. This type of calculation is directly useful for highly developed large focusing technologies as are other inexpensive simple technologies to find relational calculations to add to in combination and can directly link to corn oil. Also electrical weighing scales showing mass of a quantity to electric plates adds similarly and increasing masses of same elements or same compounds weighed in an electric weighing scales shows excited elements and compounds through mass to electricity in measurement that is also of calculation directly useful of inexpensive simple technologies. Your wish to use simple inexpensive instruments for polarity of liquids for oils is brilliant and also finding calculations through inexpensive simple technologies is brilliant. In adding calculations of polarity for direct use in the oil industry it is important to reference cohesion and adhesive forces of energy and matter of chemistry and to reference phase change of physics and also to concentrate primarily on calculations of environmental balance to ensure environmental impact in perfect and correct that is the measure of use in success or failure in lost potential with non function and possible harm in utilising resource potential. Resource potential used correct has limitless and livable abilities and riches that is the aim to achieve.
It seems me to have a check of the solubilities of your compound with different polar solvents so that you can come to conclusion that whether the compound is polar or non-polar. The solubility studies can be done on HPLC with suitable C18 columns and you can find the solubility studies on internet. You can follow standard protocols from the guidelines of solubility studies.
It is important in polarity to realize protons and neutrons move in reactions and that electrons of the centre of atoms involving positive and neutral charges move with causing electrostatic forces that move electrons in polarity also. Both these and more facts prove very useful!
