Only 4℅ of the crud oil is used to prepare plastic. Remaining 96 is directly burnt as file. Again all plastic is not subjected to burning. Therefore, I don't think plastic has a detrimental role in climate change.
Plastic is a problematic substance globally in pollution point of view. At present direct impact of plastic on climatic changes/global warming is insignificant when compared to emission of green house gasses.
Plastic (Burning plastics in “Waste to Energy Project”) is indirectly responsible for the global warming/climatic changes. But it is not a significant issue.
Execessive plastics may affect afforestation due to its persistent and my also deprive plants from aeration, that would lead to less plants taking up the green house gasses and results in Climate change. As said earlier, the direct relationship between climate change and plastic pollution is insignificant compared to burning.
These chemicals can accumulate in body tissues and have serious lethal effects on a bird's reproductive ability, immune system, and hormone balance. Floating plastic debris can produce ulcers, infections and lead to death. Marine plastic pollution can even reach birds that have never been at the sea.
Land. Chlorinated plastic can release harmful chemicals into the surrounding soil, which can then seep into groundwater or other surrounding water sources and also the ecosystem of the world. This can cause serious harm to the species that drink the water. Landfill areas contain many different types of plastics
