Obtaining the viable vigorous seeds of vegetables particularly bell pepper and cucumbers

I do not follow your question. However, when I was working with cucumber and other cucurbit genetics, I put a paper bag over the young fruit. The fruits receiving this treatment came through, whereas some of the ones not covered either rotted because of insect holes, or diseases which seemed to be associated with soil contact.
