Why review article ! . Publish research article in high impacted J to increase the weightage of your CV .

Dear Sadar,

The major value of reviewing is to support the general concept of peer-reviewing!

If I want to publish an article, I expect a serious review process done by experts in the field, that can point out weak points of the study/manuscript. Peer-reviewing is (although some times not as unbiased as it should be!) the major "quality check" for a study and its presentation in a manuscript and prevents (or at least should prevent) faulty or even "nonsense" papers. In my case I most of the times feel that the review process improves the quality of my publications...and I'm grateful to the people who took the work to review my manuscripts and provide helpful comments. I myself are therefore always (if my time allows) accept review invitations from journals.

Kind of 'recognition' for reviewing is nowadays provided by the Publons platform, and I heard that review records can be attached to CV, what appears reasonable, as you somehow also (can) show to be an expert in your field.

I agree with Johann P Klare . In my view, as peer reviewers, we have to help each other to grow scientific knowledge as well as standard quality publications.

One more question is that how should we add review records to our CV? with only journal names or with full titles of all articles which we reviewed?

I never did that myself and do not know about (possible) 'standard-styles' concerning this. I would guess that abbreviated (journal names) as well as detailed lists are reasonable.

Maybe you can have a look at Publons and register with them. If you send them the "thank you for reviewing"-email you get from the journal, they verify it and it is "officially" counted. Some journals nowadays even directly register your review with Publons.

In there (Publons) you'll also find a tool to generate a "CV"...not really suitable for real applications, but helpful to see how for example the list of reviews can be given...there you have several options from "short" to "detailed".

Reviewing an article in any field is a significant contribution to analyze justifiably and give an unbiased feedback for authors who submit their manuscripts and expect the same. For projecting your work, reviewer is also asked to send feedback either to Orcid (https://orcid.org/signin) or Publons (https://publons.com/account/login/) or linkedin or you can manually add your contribution accordingly. You can also add at ResearchGate profile. All profiles can be publicly seen at these mentioned fora and may be a good source of collaboration and trust.

Thanks Syed Aftab Hussain Shah . Could you please explain how to add review records on researchgate? I have not seen any option to add reviewed articles as a reviewer on reaserchgate. I can see only the Publons which can support reviewers contribution.
