I am working on a Phased array project and would like to know the characterization aspects of it. I have an antenna array whose far field pattern is shown to have HBPW of 13 degree through MATLAB simulations. The phase shift applied to phase shifters steer the beam in azimuthal direction and the progressive phase shift applied (PS) and corresponding steerable angle(phi) are related to as PS=k*d*sin(phi), where k is wave-vector, d is the spacing.
Question: While characterizing the array, if the steering angle from the applied phase shift is five degrees (5 degrees) far lower than the HPBW (13 degree); Is this possible to characterize?
