single chain variable fragments (scFv) antibodies can be expressed either in soluble form or on the surface of bacteriophages (phage displayed); in both cases, they are produced essentially using Escherichia coli cultures.

Is there any advantage in using the phage-displayed scFv over the soluble scFv? stability, for instance? the number of binding sites? costs?

thank you.
