Too many variables / unknowns in the question.. If you're water flooding at 300 meters you may have issues. Fracking @ 3000 meters shouldn't be a problem if you have good mechanical well integrity.

Fossil fuels are the cheapest alternatives at this point, otherwise solar, nuclear, & wind would have already taken over the energy marketplace.
